Is Typeless free? The free plan's weekly limit and what Pro costs

Yes, Typeless has a free plan with most features but a weekly word limit and standard accuracy. See where it stops, refund terms, Pro prices and free options.

Yes, with a weekly word limit. Every new Typeless account starts on the Free plan, which includes most of the editing features but limits how many words you can dictate each week and gives "Standard accuracy". Typeless does not print the weekly number on its pricing page; the app shows it. Unlimited words need Typeless Pro, at $12 a month billed yearly or $30 billed monthly, as of 3 October 2026.

Publisher note: SuprFlow publishes this guide and is one of the products discussed. Competitor details come from each company's own pages, checked on 3 October 2026. Prices and features change; confirm before you buy.

What does the free version of Typeless include?

As of 3 October 2026, from the Typeless pricing page.

ItemTypeless Free
Price$0 per member a month; you create an account to start
Words"Limited words" each week
Accuracy"Standard accuracy" (Pro lists "Enhanced accuracy")
Busy periods"Standard access during high demand"
Editing featuresMessy thoughts to clear writing, translation, "Ask anything", personalized style and tone, different tones for each app, whisper mode
Dictionary and languagesPersonal dictionary; 100+ languages
PlatformsmacOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android

That is a generous feature list for a free plan. The limits are on volume, accuracy level and priority, not on what the app can do.

Where does the free plan stop?

  • The weekly word allowance. Typeless's billing help page says a new account starts on Free with limited words each week. The number is not on the public pages, so check the counter in the app before relying on Free for work.
  • Accuracy level. Free is listed as standard accuracy and Pro as enhanced. Typeless does not explain the difference in detail, and we have not measured it.
  • Priority when busy. Free gets standard access during high demand.
  • Cloud sync and team features. Syncing history across devices, team management, centralized billing and usage analytics are Pro.

One thing does not change with the plan: Typeless's Data Controls page says "Transcription is performed on the cloud", so you need an internet connection on Free and Pro alike. Is Typeless safe? covers what it stores.

Is there a free trial or a refund?

The free plan is how you try Typeless; the pricing and billing pages we read do not describe a timed Pro trial. Refunds are narrow. Typeless's terms say "Refunds will only be issued when legally required or in accordance with the applicable third-party app store's refund policies." You can cancel Pro under Subscription on the Account page in the app, per the pricing FAQ, and How to cancel Typeless has the steps.

What do you pay next?

As of 3 October 2026, from the pricing page:

PlanPrice
Pro, billed yearly$12 per member a month ($144 a year)
Pro, billed monthly$30 a month ($360 over twelve months)
EnterpriseCustom pricing

The gap between yearly and monthly billing is wide, and with no refund window a year is a real commitment. Run the free plan for a few normal weeks first. Typeless pricing covers student and referral offers and a three-year cost table.

What are the free alternatives?

  • Apple Dictation. Built into macOS: choose Apple menu → System Settings → Keyboard, go to Dictation and turn it on, per Apple's Dictation guide (macOS 27; on older versions look for Dictation in Keyboard settings). Apple says there is no timeout on length; it stops after 30 seconds without speech. See How to use voice to text on a Mac.
  • Free apps with no weekly limit, such as Superwhisper Free, Spokenly's local models and Handy. They write down what you say rather than rewrite it. See Best free dictation app for Mac.

Where does SuprFlow fit?

SuprFlow, which publishes this page, is not free: $125 for lifetime access on up to five Macs you own, no subscription, and a 7-day refund on a first purchase. It has no free tier or trial. Speech recognition runs on the Mac with an on-device model, and Default formatting is local cleanup of punctuation, capitalization and numbers rather than a rewrite. It is the wrong choice if Typeless Free covers your week, or if you want translation, voice editing, Linux, Windows or phone apps. SuprFlow vs Typeless compares them.
