Wispr Flow pricing (2026): plans, free limits and yearly cost

Wispr Flow costs $0 on Free, $15 a month or $144 a year on Pro. See every plan, the weekly word limits, student offers and a 3-year cost table.

Wispr Flow has a free plan and three paid tiers. As of 1 October 2026, Flow Free costs $0 with a weekly word limit, Flow Pro costs $15 per user per month or $144 per user per year (which works out to $12 a month), Growth starts at $23 per user per month, and Enterprise is custom-priced. So yes, Wispr Flow costs money once you need unlimited dictation, but you can start and stay on the free plan without a credit card.

Publisher note: SuprFlow publishes this guide and is one of the products discussed. Competitor details come from each company's own pages, checked on 1 October 2026. Prices and features change; confirm before you buy.

What does each Wispr Flow plan cost?

PlanBilled monthlyBilled annuallyWhat Wispr lists
Free$0$0Dictation on Mac, Windows, iOS and Android in 100+ languages; dictionary and snippets; limited Notetaker access. Word limit: 2,000 a week on desktop, 1,000 a week on mobile (on mobile this is where dictation warns or slows; Wispr's cap article puts the hard stop at 1,500 words).
Pro$15 per user per month$12 per user per month ($144 per user per year)Everything in Free, plus unlimited dictations, longer Notetaker history, shared dictionary and snippets, a shared team workspace, centralized billing, priority support and early access to new features.
Growth$23 per user per month for dictation; $33 with unlimited Notetaker access (Wispr's pricing page shows a promotion making the Notetaker add-on free through 31 October 2026)$18 per user per month for dictation; $26 with unlimited Notetaker accessEverything in Pro, plus SAML single sign-on, organisation-wide HIPAA enforcement with a signed BAA, multiple domains, admin control over model training, and individual usage reporting.
EnterpriseCustomCustom, sold annuallyEverything in Growth, plus SCIM provisioning, audit logs, managed deployment (MDM), model training locked off, custom contract terms, and invoice or purchase-order billing.

Two details are worth knowing before you compare numbers.

First, annual billing is a 20% discount on Pro, paid as one $144 charge. Second, the price you see can differ from the USD list. Wispr's plan article says currency follows your connection's region, that each of its 24 supported currencies has its own fixed price rather than an exchange-rate conversion, and that existing subscribers keep their original price.

Wispr's help article currently calls the middle team tier "Business" and says to contact sales, while the pricing page calls it "Growth" and shows the prices above. If you are buying for a team, treat the checkout or the sales quote as the final figure.

What does the free plan include, and where are the limits?

Flow Free is the full dictation app with a weekly allowance. The pricing page puts the allowance at 2,000 words a week on desktop and 1,000 words a week on mobile. Wispr's weekly word cap article adds that mobile words are counted separately from desktop words, unused words do not carry over, and the count resets every Sunday at 12 a.m. Pacific Time.

The Notetaker (Wispr's meeting recorder) is included on Free with a weekly meeting limit (Wispr's plans help article says Notetaker "isn't limited" on Flow Free, so its own pages differ; trust the in-app limit). The pricing page says recordings under five minutes do not count towards that limit.

Wispr Flow Free vs Pro: what do you actually pay for?

According to Wispr's own plan comparison, Pro changes three things for an individual: the word limit becomes unlimited, Notetaker limits rise and notes are kept longer, and support moves from standard to priority. The other Pro additions (shared dictionary, shared workspace, centralized billing, usage dashboards) matter only if you invite teammates.

The rule of thumb that follows from Wispr's own limits: if you dictate fewer than 2,000 words a week on your Mac, Free already covers you. 2,000 words is roughly 285 words a day, or a handful of emails. Past that, you are choosing between Pro and a different app.

Is there a student discount?

Yes, but Wispr's pages describe it in more than one way, so check the offer shown in your own account.

  • The plan article lists a Student plan at $0 per year for eligible students, claimed on Mac or Windows under Settings → Plans and Billing → Claim student plan, and a paid student price of $7.50 a month or $72 a year.
  • The discount article says an educational address alone does not guarantee free pricing: selected student accounts qualify for the annual $0 plan and other recognised students get paid student pricing.
  • The students page advertises three months free and then $6 a month billed annually.
  • The pricing page FAQ says students and educators with an education email get 50% off Flow Pro, and that nonprofits get discounted Pro.

The same discount article lists other categories support will consider with proof: educators, nonprofits, military, seniors and accessibility needs.

How much does Wispr Flow cost over one, two and three years?

This table uses list prices as of 1 October 2026, in USD, before tax, for one person on a Mac. It assumes prices stay the same, which no vendor promises.

How to read it fairly:

  • The rows are not the same product. Wispr Pro covers Mac, Windows, iPhone and Android on one subscription, includes the Notetaker, and runs speech recognition in Wispr's cloud. SuprFlow and VoiceInk are Mac apps that run speech recognition on the Mac. SuprFlow has no phone or Windows app, no meeting recorder and no team admin console.
  • Short-term, the subscription is cheaper. Eight months of Pro on monthly billing is $120, which is less than SuprFlow's $125. From the ninth month the one-time price is lower. If you only need heavy dictation for one project, pay Wispr monthly and cancel.
  • Free may be enough. Wispr's own free plan, Apple's built-in Dictation and the free local apps all cost nothing. Try them before paying anyone. Free Wispr Flow alternatives for Mac compares them.
  • One-time does not mean everything forever. Read each seller's update terms. SuprFlow's licence is personal, covers up to five Macs you own, has a 7-day refund on a first purchase, and has no free tier or trial.

The cost difference follows from the architecture. A cloud service pays for servers on every dictation and charges monthly. A local app uses your Mac's processor, so a one-time price is workable. Free vs paid Mac dictation covers the costs that sit outside the sticker price.

Where do you buy, and can you cancel?

Wispr's plan article says Pro monthly and annual can be bought on desktop by card, on iOS through the App Store and on Android through Google Play, and that a subscription syncs across devices. For card subscriptions, upgrades take effect immediately and downgrades at the end of the billing period. The pricing page says there are no commitments and you can cancel at any time under Plan & Billing in the desktop app. A cancelled or expired subscription returns to Free, and the plan article says your data is preserved.

Teams get a 14-day team trial for eligible first-time team creators, with no minimum seat count on Pro.
