Typeless has a free plan, one paid plan and an enterprise tier. As of 1 October 2026, Typeless Free costs $0 with a limited number of words each week, Typeless Pro costs $30 per member a month on monthly billing or $12 per member a month billed yearly, and Enterprise is custom-priced. The gap between monthly and yearly billing is unusually wide, so the billing choice matters more here than with most dictation apps.
Publisher note: SuprFlow publishes this guide and is one of the products discussed. Competitor details come from each company's own pages, checked on 1 October 2026. Prices and features change; confirm before you buy.
What does each Typeless plan cost?
Prices in USD as of 1 October 2026, from the Typeless pricing page.
| Plan | Price | What Typeless lists |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 per member a month | Limited words; standard accuracy; standard access during high demand; translate; "Ask anything"; personalized style and tone; personal dictionary; 100+ languages; different tones for each app; whisper mode |
| Pro | $12 per member a month, billed yearly; $30 when billed monthly | Everything in Free, plus unlimited words, enhanced accuracy, priority access during high demand, cloud sync across devices, team member management, centralized billing and invoices, team usage analytics |
| Enterprise | Custom; contact sales | Everything in Pro, plus SSO, SCIM provisioning, domain verification, audit logs, enforced HIPAA controls, volume discounts, flexible invoicing, priority support |
At $12 a month, a year of Pro billed yearly works out to $144. Twelve months on monthly billing is $360.
Typeless's pages list apps for macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS and Android.
One inconsistency: the pricing page shows monthly and yearly billing only, while the eligibility note on Typeless's referral page mentions Individual plans as "Monthly, Quarterly, or Yearly". We could not find a quarterly price on a public page. If you see one at checkout, the checkout is the figure to trust.
What are the free limits?
The pricing page lists "Limited words" on Free and "Unlimited words" on Pro. Its FAQ says a new account starts "on the Typeless Free plan with limited words each week, standard accuracy, and standard access during high demand."
Typeless does not print the weekly number on its pricing page or in its help centre billing answers as of 1 October 2026, so we are not going to quote one. The app shows your allowance once you sign in. Check the current number there, or on the pricing page, before deciding whether Free is enough.
What Free does include is broad: the same editing features, translation, the personal dictionary and tone settings appear on the Free list. According to Typeless, Pro changes four things for one person: the word limit goes away, accuracy is "enhanced", you get priority access when the service is busy, and your settings sync across devices. The other Pro items are for teams.
Can you cancel, and are there refunds?
The pricing FAQ says you can cancel Pro under Subscription on the Account page in the app. Typeless's terms of service say paid services renew automatically until cancelled, and that "Refunds will only be issued when legally required or in accordance with the applicable third-party app store's refund policies." Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are managed in that store.
In plain terms: there is no stated money-back window. A yearly plan is a $144 commitment, so run the free plan long enough to be sure before you pay for a year.
Is there a Typeless promotion code or student discount?
We do not list or pass on promotion codes. These are the offers Typeless documents itself:
- Students: the students page offers 50% off Typeless Pro. You verify by signing in with a school email, or by emailing Typeless from it, in which case they reply with a unique coupon code. It is valid for desktop checkout only and for users who have not yet subscribed to Pro.
- Referrals: the referral page says a friend who signs up through your link gets $5 credit for Typeless Pro, and you get $5 once they dictate 2,000 words. Credits apply only to Individual plans bought through desktop checkout.
- Gift cards: Typeless sells gift cards that unlock Pro for one year. You must sign in to see the amount.
For any other code, rely on what Typeless shows at checkout, not on coupon sites.
How much does Typeless cost over one, two and three years?
List prices as of 1 October 2026, USD, one person, before tax. It assumes prices do not change. Typeless's terms say it may change fees at renewal with notice.
| Option | How you pay | Year 1 | After 2 years | After 3 years |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Typeless Free | Free, weekly word limit | $0 | $0 | $0 |
| Typeless Pro, monthly | $30 a month | $360 | $720 | $1,080 |
| Typeless Pro, yearly | $12 a month, billed yearly | $144 | $288 | $432 |
| SuprFlow | $125 once | $125 | $125 | $125 |
| Superwhisper Free | Free, local Whisper models | $0 | $0 | $0 |
How to read it honestly:
- For a short need, Typeless monthly is cheaper. Four months at $30 is $120. In the fifth month the total ($150) passes SuprFlow's $125.
- On yearly billing, the first payment is already higher. $144 against $125, and the gap grows by $144 each year.
- Monthly billing is expensive if you stay. A year paid monthly costs $216 more than the yearly plan. If you know you will keep Typeless, pay yearly; if you do not know, treat the first month as a paid trial.
- The rows are different products. Typeless is a subscription service on five platforms that edits and can translate what you say. SuprFlow is a Mac-only app for Apple Silicon and macOS 14 or later that recognises speech on the Mac, with local cleanup of punctuation, capitalization and numbers. It has no free tier, no trial, no translation feature, and no Windows, Linux or phone app.
SuprFlow's licence is personal, covers up to five Macs you own, and has a 7-day refund on a first purchase. We have not run a controlled benchmark of either app.
Who should pay for Typeless, and who should not?
Pay for Pro (yearly) if you hit the free word limit most weeks, you like how Typeless edits your speech, and you use it on several devices, including Linux and Android.
Stay on Free if the weekly allowance covers you. Typeless puts its main features on the free plan.
Avoid monthly billing unless you need it for a month or two. At $30 it is at least double the monthly price of the other dictation subscriptions we checked.
Do not pay if you want a one-time purchase or speech recognised on your Mac. Typeless alternatives for Mac compares those options.
