SuprFlow pasted into the wrong app or field: what should I do?

A recovery checklist for a misplaced dictation, plus a focus test for browser forms, CRM fields, and confidential notes on Mac.

Stop before sending or saving anything else. Check where the text landed, whether that destination autosaved or synced, and whether any person or service received it. If the words included client, banking, legal, or audit information, use your organization's incident and records process. Deleting the visible text may not remove a synced version, clipboard-manager capture, or backup. Do not copy the sensitive sentence into an ordinary support ticket.

For a harmless test, SuprFlow's normal insertion method in version 1.0.0 waits briefly, writes final text to the system clipboard, and simulates Command-V into the currently focused app. It does not appear to lock the paste to the window that was frontmost when recording began. A notification, click, modal, or app switch before insertion can change the destination. Live streaming follows a different Accessibility or keyboard path and needs its own test.

Recover the misplaced text

  1. Identify the exact app, account, document, and field where the text appeared. Do not assume an open browser tab is the same account or tenant as the intended one.
  2. Determine whether the text was only a draft, autosaved, sent, or visible to collaborators. In a browser editor, inspect the document's sharing and version history under that service's rules.
  3. Follow the firm's correction or incident process. For a personal practice note this may be a simple correction; for confidential client data in the wrong tenant it may require a privacy or security report. Preserve the facts of the event without spreading the original text to unapproved tools.
  4. Inspect SuprFlow's local transcription history and any third-party clipboard manager separately. Removing text from one destination does not erase these other copies.
  5. Before dictating again, test a synthetic sentence in the intended field and observe where it actually lands.

The app's local history keeps up to 100 entries. In SuprFlow 1.0.0, deleting one row may not persist after a restart; do not treat a disappearing row as proof of erasure. The history guide covers that detail. If the misplaced text entered a cloud-connected editor, the destination sync guide covers that path.

Reproduce the focus problem safely

Open two fictional blank notes, A and B. Start recording with the cursor in A, switch to B before finishing, and observe where the final text appears. Record SuprFlow version, hotkey mode, whether live streaming is enabled, timing, destination apps, and result. Then repeat without changing focus. This is a diagnostic exercise, not a recommendation to switch windows during a confidential dictation.

If the problem occurs only in one CRM or browser form, test a plain field in the same app and a local note. Some custom editors intercept simulated paste or move focus after autosave. Check for a modal, browser address bar, search box, or notification that becomes active during transcription. SuprFlow captures app and focused-field metadata at recording start, but its normal insertion sends the later Command-V to the current focus. The captured context is not a destination lock.

Make the next confidential note safer

Use a stable, approved destination. Click the exact field immediately before recording, keep that app frontmost until text appears, and verify the account or matter number before committing the note. For high-stakes content, dictate to a local staging note first, review names, figures, and negations, then move the approved text into the firm's record system. That adds a review step and may add another local copy, so include the staging note in retention policy. A team pilot should measure wrong-field pastes rather than just words per minute.

Questions people ask

Does SuprFlow paste into the app that was open when I began speaking?

Not necessarily in the normal insertion path. It pastes after transcription and formatting into the app with focus at that later moment. Test the signed release and mode in the actual destination.

If I undo the paste, is the incident over?

That depends on whether the destination autosaved, synced, notified collaborators, or retained a version. The clipboard and SuprFlow history may also hold copies. Follow the organization's incident and correction policy.

Why did a browser search box receive my note?

The address or search field may have had focus when simulated Command-V ran. Use a synthetic test to identify the timing, then keep the intended editor focused or change the workflow.
