Open Transcriptions in SuprFlow to review recent dictation. The installed 1.0.0 (12) screen has Search transcriptions and Clear All controls; the app also includes individual-row deletion. Before using either deletion path with confidential material, know what the app stores: SuprFlow 1.0.0 keeps up to 100 entries in ~/Library/Application Support/SuprFlow/transcriptionHistory.json, and each entry can contain the raw speech transcript as well as cleaned or formatted versions and model details.
Do not rely on the one-row delete control in SuprFlow 1.0.0. Deleting one row removes it from the visible list, but the change may not persist after the app restarts. A pending history save can also race with Clear All. A disappearing row is therefore not proof that the stored entry was erased; use Clear All and check again after relaunching.
Use Clear All, then verify the result
In the current UI, choose Transcriptions → Clear All and confirm the irreversible action. Clear All removes the in-memory entries and the app's history file, and clears an older preferences key. Because a pending save can race with the file deletion in SuprFlow 1.0.0, close and reopen the app and check whether history remains empty. A firm that needs reliable deletion should verify deletion in the signed release it deploys, rather than asking staff to use a potentially racy control as a retention guarantee.
If you are a technical administrator, verify the Application Support file after the app settles, using a test account and synthetic dictation. Do not inspect or copy real client transcripts into a support ticket. The file path describes SuprFlow 1.0.0, not a permanent storage contract; confirm it in the installed version.
Identify the other copies
| Location | What Clear All does not establish |
|---|---|
| Destination app | Text pasted into Mail, a document, CRM, working paper, or chat remains under that app's own storage and retention rules. |
| macOS clipboard | Ordinary SuprFlow insertion temporarily places final text on the system clipboard for a paste, then attempts to restore the previous string. A third-party clipboard manager may capture the temporary value. |
| SuprFlow clipboard history | This is a separate feature with its own local store and controls. Turning it off through the current General confirmation also clears that feature's history; verify the signed release. |
| Device backups | Time Machine, managed backups, and snapshots may contain an older copy of the Application Support file. Their retention is controlled elsewhere. |
| Hosted formatter | If Cloud API or a remote Ollama endpoint was selected, its recipient may have separate retention or logging. Deleting local history does not delete provider-side copies. |
Clearing a convenience history is not the same as erasing a complete business record. A bank, law firm, or auditor may be required to preserve the final approved document even while removing temporary drafting copies. Have the organization's records owner define both sides of that rule.
A safe retention decision before dictating
Use a synthetic test to check the installed build, history controls, clipboard setting, formatter endpoint, and destination app. Decide whether the managed Mac and its backups may retain raw transcripts. If the answer is no, wait for an approved configuration or an app release with enforceable retention controls. Do not make a policy promise based on a toggle whose behavior has not been tested.
Questions people ask
Does deleting one SuprFlow history item remove it from disk?
Not reliably in SuprFlow 1.0.0: a deleted row may come back after the app restarts. Use Clear All, confirm after relaunching, and check the installed release's behavior before relying on individual deletion.
Does Clear All remove the text from the document where I pasted it?
No. That document belongs to its destination app and may be synced, backed up, or subject to organizational retention. Clear All concerns SuprFlow's own history file.
Does clearing history delete my audio recording?
The normal recording pipeline removes its temporary audio file after transcription in SuprFlow 1.0.0; history contains text and metadata rather than the original recording. Error and crash paths need signed-release verification. Clearing history is not a general erase command for backups or other apps.
Can my firm set “no transcript history” centrally?
No centrally enforced history-retention setting was confirmed in SuprFlow 1.0.0. Ask SuprFlow for current deployment evidence rather than assuming a personal Clear All button is a firm-wide control.
