If you bought Spokenly Pro on spokenly.app, cancel it from the billing portal: Spokenly's Upgrade to Pro guide says to find the email you received when you bought and log in to manage your subscription from there. If you bought it in the App Store on a Mac or iPhone, cancel through Apple's subscription settings. Spokenly's pricing FAQ says you keep Pro until the end of the paid period, and website purchases have a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Where do you cancel? It depends on where you bought Pro
Spokenly sells Pro in two places: in the app through the App Store (iOS and macOS), and on its website.
| Where you bought Pro | Where to cancel |
|---|---|
| spokenly.app (website) | The billing portal; log in from the link in your purchase email |
| Mac App Store or iPhone App Store | Apple's subscription settings, as Spokenly's guide says, using Apple's cancel page |
| Team plan | Whoever bought the team subscription |
| Cannot find the purchase email | Contact Spokenly through the app |
Steps: cancel a Pro subscription bought on spokenly.app
- Search your email for the receipt from your Spokenly Pro purchase.
- Use it to log in to the billing portal.
- Cancel the subscription. Spokenly's FAQ says this takes "a couple of clicks".
- If you cannot find the email, Spokenly's guide says to contact them through the app.
Steps: cancel Spokenly Pro bought through the App Store
Apple's page Cancel a subscription from Apple gives these steps.
On a Mac:
- Open the App Store and click your name at the bottom of the sidebar.
- Click your name again on the page that appears. You may need to sign in.
- Click Subscriptions, then click Spokenly.
- Click Cancel Subscription.
On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Spokenly → Cancel Subscription.
Apple says that if there is no Cancel button, or you see an expiration message in red, the subscription is already cancelled.
What happens after you cancel?
Spokenly's pricing FAQ says: "You keep Pro access until the end of the paid period."
After that you lose the Pro features: Spokenly's own cloud models, hosted AI cleanup, sync across devices and priority support. The free side does not go away. Spokenly's pricing page lists on-device Whisper and Parakeet models at "$0 forever" with no word caps, and says you can also use cloud models with your own API keys at no Spokenly charge (the provider bills you). For many people that means cancelling Pro and carrying on with Spokenly free.
Can you get a Spokenly refund?
Yes, within a window, if you bought on the website. Spokenly's pricing FAQ says:
- "Pro purchased on spokenly.app comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee: email [email protected] within 14 days and we will refund you in full."
- "Missed the window or have any other issue? Contact us anyway and we will find a solution."
- "App Store purchases are refunded by Apple through their standard process."
How do you delete your Spokenly account?
Cancel first. Spokenly's delete account page says to cancel active subscriptions separately with your billing provider.
- Go to spokenly.app/delete-account.
- Enter your account email and submit the request.
- Confirm through the email Spokenly sends.
Spokenly says it stores your email and app activity, such as button clicks and error reports, and deletes your account and data within 30 days of email confirmation. It says it does not store audio or transcriptions on its servers. The page does not cover data kept on your own devices, and Spokenly's pages do not describe a data export. Questions go to [email protected].
What to use instead
Publisher note: SuprFlow publishes this guide and is one of the products discussed. Competitor details come from each company's own pages, checked on 3 October 2026. Prices and features change; confirm before you buy.
- Spokenly's free local models. If you only wanted to stop paying, they stay free after Pro ends.
- Apple Dictation, free. Turn it on under Apple menu → System Settings → Keyboard → Dictation, per Apple's Dictation guide. See How to use voice to text on a Mac.
- A one-time purchase. Mac dictation apps you can buy once and Spokenly alternatives compare the options.
- SuprFlow. $125 for lifetime access on up to five Macs you own, no subscription, and a 7-day refund on a first purchase. Speech recognition runs on the Mac with an on-device model; Default formatting is local cleanup of punctuation, capitalization and numbers. Be honest with yourself here: Spokenly's free local tier already gives on-device dictation for $0, so SuprFlow is a preference, not a saving. It is the wrong choice if you need Windows, Linux or iPhone apps, file transcription or a free trial.
