Superwhisper has a free plan and one paid tier, Pro, sold three ways. As of 1 October 2026, Superwhisper's price for Pro is $8.49 a month, $84.99 a year, or $249.99 once for a lifetime licence. The free plan gives unlimited dictation with local Whisper models, so many people never need to pay. The lifetime licence only beats the annual plan if you keep using Pro into a third year.

What does each Superwhisper plan cost?

Superwhisper states that "Every plan includes the same features; only the billing differs." One Pro licence covers unlimited Macs and Windows PCs plus your iPhone and Android phone, and lifetime keys never expire.
Those are the prices on superwhisper.com. The same page says buying inside the iPhone or Android app costs more because of Apple's and Google's fees, and it does not list those store prices. If you want the lowest price, buy on the website; if you buy in an app store, the price shown at checkout is the one that applies.
Superwhisper Free vs Pro: where does the free plan stop?

There is no time-limited trial. Instead, Superwhisper says new users get 3,000 words of access to all Pro features, and when those run out "the app falls back to the Free plan; nothing is deleted." On the Free plan, Superwhisper says nothing you dictate leaves your device.
So the free plan stops at the point where you want the app to rewrite what you said (AI modes), transcribe a recording, or use a cloud or Parakeet model. Plain dictation with a local Whisper model stays free.
Is the Superwhisper lifetime licence worth it?
It depends on how long you will pay for Pro. At list prices:
- Against the annual plan, lifetime costs more for the first two years ($169.98 after two annual payments). The third annual payment takes the total to $254.97, which is the first point where lifetime ($249.99) is cheaper.
- Against the monthly plan, lifetime becomes cheaper in month 30 (30 months at $8.49 is $254.70).
If you are sure you will use Pro for three years or more, lifetime wins by a growing margin each year. If you are not sure, the annual plan costs less to find out. Superwhisper's subscription page says that if you buy Lifetime while subscribed and email support from the same address, it refunds the unused part of your subscription.
What are the refund terms?
Superwhisper's refund policy gives a 30-day window from the date of first purchase, for monthly, annual and lifetime plans bought on superwhisper.com. Refunds are requested through a form and confirmed by email. Renewal charges are not refundable on their own, because the window starts at the first purchase. Purchases through the App Store or Google Play are refunded by Apple or Google, not Superwhisper. The policy also says a licence terminated for breaking the terms of service, including a lifetime licence, is not refunded.
Is there a Superwhisper discount code or student discount?
We do not list or pass on discount codes. What Superwhisper itself documents is this: verified students, faculty and academic institutions get 40% off list price, and so do verified non-profits. You email [email protected] from your academic or organisation address with proof, before you buy. The discount applies to monthly, annual and lifetime plans on superwhisper.com, not to App Store purchases, cannot be combined with other discounts and is not applied to charges already made. How much does Superwhisper cost over one, two and three years?

How to read it honestly:
- Superwhisper Free is the cheapest row and it is a real product. If local Whisper dictation is all you need, it costs nothing and neither paid app is necessary.
- Superwhisper Pro is cheaper than SuprFlow at first. Fourteen months of monthly Pro is $118.86. In month 15 the total passes $125. On the annual plan, the first year ($84.99) is cheaper and the second payment, in month 13, takes it past $125.
- The rows are different products. Superwhisper Pro includes cloud models, AI modes, file transcription and apps for Windows, iPhone and Android. SuprFlow is a Mac-only dictation app for Apple Silicon and macOS 14 or later that recognises speech on the Mac, with local cleanup of punctuation, capitalization and numbers. It has no free tier, no trial, no file transcription and no phone or Windows app.
- SuprFlow's licence is personal, covers up to five Macs you own, and has a 7-day refund on a first purchase.

Who should pay for Superwhisper Pro, and who should not?
Pay for Pro if you want AI modes that rewrite dictation for email or chat, you transcribe audio files, you want Superwhisper's cloud or Parakeet models, or you want one licence across Mac, Windows and phone.
Stay on Free if you mainly dictate text into apps and a local Whisper model is accurate enough for you. Use the 3,000 Pro words to see whether the AI modes change anything for your writing.
