Deploy SuprFlow on managed Macs: the IT checklist

Check Mac compatibility, the signed installer, microphone and Accessibility consent, model downloads, updates, and privacy paths before a team rollout.

Before distributing SuprFlow across a law firm, bank, or audit team, pilot the same signed installer employees will receive. The current requirements page lists Apple Silicon, macOS 14 or later, 4 GB free disk space, and an initial download of about 2.5 GB. A working app icon is only the first gate: the speech model must load, microphone and Accessibility consent must work, dictation must reach approved fields, and the selected formatting route must fit policy.

1. Record the artifact and its update route

Get the official download URL, version, package checksum, signing identity, and notarization result from the vendor. Run your normal endpoint-management checks on the final distributed artifact. Apple's notarization guidance explains that a ticket helps Gatekeeper verify a Developer ID-signed release; notarization is an automated malware and code-signing check, not an audit of confidentiality, data retention, or model training. Test launch on a fresh managed Mac, including a Mac that has not previously trusted a development build.

SuprFlow uses Sparkle for updates. Decide whether IT or end users will initiate updates, what feed or network path is required, and how you will retest after a version change. Do not assume a published description proves the identity or behavior of the current public binary. The signed-release privacy test gives a synthetic-data evidence sheet.

The app asks for microphone access to capture speech and Accessibility access to paste text into another app. Apple's privacy-preferences payload can manage supported per-app privacy settings on enrolled Macs. Its service documentation states that the older profile cannot grant microphone access; it can deny it. Apple also introduced managed consent defaults for supervised macOS 27 devices, with a user consent prompt. Permission behavior therefore depends on OS and management method; test on the versions in your fleet instead of promising silent preapproval.

Use a harmless phrase in the actual destination apps. Verify the keyboard shortcut, active input device, focused field, paste result, clipboard behavior, and any third-party clipboard manager. If a field is wrong or another window becomes active, use the wrong-window response guide. Record who grants each permission and how a revoked permission is recovered.

3. Budget and observe the first model download

Plan capacity from the first-download worksheet. Test the model host through the same proxy or filter employees use. Record the downloaded model, bytes transferred, disk space after install, and time to first successful dictation. A passed installer checksum does not mean the model can download or load. Avoid copying ~/.suprflow between users unless the vendor documents that as a supported method.

4. Approve the data route, then retest it

SuprFlow 1.0.0 has on-device speech recognition and default cleanup, plus optional Cloud API formatting and a configurable Ollama endpoint. It also has account/license, update, and telemetry paths, local transcription history, and clipboard-based insertion. Ask which of these your team will allow, then verify the signed release using fictional text. For a regulated team, make the approved configuration, reviewer, and next review date part of the rollout record. A bank vendor checklist and law-firm questions cover sector-specific evidence.

Questions people ask

Does a notarized installer prove client speech stays on the Mac?

No. Notarization addresses distribution integrity and automated security checks. Confirm the configured speech and formatting paths in the signed build and reconcile them with the vendor's public policy.

Can MDM automatically approve microphone access for every Mac?

Do not assume that. Apple's older privacy profile cannot grant microphone access, and its newer managed defaults still involve a user consent prompt on supported supervised systems. Test your macOS and management combination.

Is one successful pilot enough for every update?

No. Recheck the artifact identity, permissions, model download, destination insertion, and data routes after material app or policy changes. Keep the previous result tied to its exact build.
