SuprFlow's downloaded speech model can run on your Mac without an internet connection. That is different from asking whether an activated license remains usable through a long outage. The current terms say account and license checks may require a connection and advise checking the current signed release before depending on an offline workflow. In SuprFlow 1.0.0, the app verifies its token on launch and restores cached authorization after a network failure only while the last verification is within a seven-day grace period. The menu-bar hotkey requires an authenticated, valid-license state. This raises a clear question; it is not a signed-release test result.
The app also performs periodic server heartbeats while running and updates license status and feature flags. A temporary network error in an already-running app is handled differently from launching after a long offline gap. A buyer should test both. This matters for travel, secure networks, incident recovery, and any “buy once, keep using it” claim.
A harmless offline test plan
- Activate a legitimate license on the current signed build. Record app version, macOS version, model, and time of last successful online verification.
- With a synthetic sentence, confirm a local model and the Default formatter work while the Mac is online.
- Disconnect from the network and restart the app within the grace period. Check whether the menu-bar hotkey, model, and insertion work.
- On a disposable test account or vendor-provided test environment, test the boundary after the documented grace period. Do not alter a production Mac's clock or tamper with activation files to simulate it; ask the vendor for a supported test method.
- Reconnect and observe recovery. Record any sign-in prompt, server dependency, changed feature flags, and whether local history remains intact.
A guarantee of use after the vendor's servers cease operation would need an explicit end-of-service activation plan or another mechanism that can be tested. Ask for that in writing before relying on it in enterprise procurement. A perpetual legal license and an offline-capable speech engine alone do not prove a binary can authenticate indefinitely without the vendor.
Also distinguish offline speech from other network paths. Initial model download, license checks, updates, release telemetry, Cloud API formatting, and a remote Ollama endpoint each have their own behavior. The first-download guide covers setup, while the data-flow guide covers privacy.
Questions people ask
Can I dictate on a flight after setting up SuprFlow?
A loaded local speech model can transcribe offline, and the app has a recent-license cache. Test the current signed build, your formatter, and your expected time away from a network before relying on it for work.
Does the seven-day cache mean the app always stops on day eight?
SuprFlow 1.0.0 rejects a stale cache when restoring authorization after launch. That is not a complete behavioral test of every running-app and recovery path. Ask the vendor for the supported offline policy and verify the signed release.
Does a perpetual purchase remove activation dependence?
Not automatically. The public terms grant a perpetual license, while the app uses server verification. Ask how an existing purchaser can continue using the app if verification becomes unavailable.
